Taking To The Air
Recently, I painted up a couple of planes. They started out as Hot Wheels vehicles, and ended up as very passable 15mm and 20mm Planes.
The one on the left is perfectly scaled for 15mm, and looks the part of the type of plane a bush pilot would fly:
The second one could work on a 15mm table; it is more scaled for 20mm, though. It fits the part of an unltra-light some post-apocalyptic Sky Captain would fly:
They both fit in with the helicopter I previously made for use on my ATZ tables:
Hopefully, they don't end up with the same fate!
People have asked me about the flying base. I throw up a quick tutorial next week on how to make them.

The sea plane offers some neat scenario options!
ReplyDeleteHave you checked out the Hot Wings die cast planes? They do a nice Cessna 172, Piper Cherokee and Beechcraft Bonanza that would probably be just about right for 15mm.
CM, I took a looksie at the Hot Wings...very tasty. I may have to scrounge up some money to get some.
